League Looks East

May 13th 2005,

PENFIELD, NY--

With the offical Sunday Night Softball opening night just weeks, maybe even days away, the league's office continues to look for new expansion teams. SNS managment is just inches away from making a announcment and releasing rosters of not one, but two new teams to enter the 2005 season. Details have not yet been released from league head quarters in Chili, NY but sources have confirmed that Bryan Reynolds, brother of SNS slugger Andrew Reynolds, has been looking into Sunday Night Softball ever since its existance. This team would be made up of all soon to be JRs in college. The new team would bring more compitition into the league.

Not to worry though says chief SNS website designer Andrew Reynolds. "I have told Bryan how SNS is a league of average students and players and we cannot allow varsity players to enter the league and he fully understands that and will obide by the rules" he said. Matt Williams is not intimidated by the potential offensive powerhouse, "I think our team and Panchos Ranchos are strong enough to take on any new teams that enter the league. It's all about defense in this league." Matt Williams said when reporters caught up with him outside of his car after class on Friday. "Go defense or go home, that's our moto" he later added.

As mentioned above, there have been rumors of a second team lacing up for the season. A report released by the AP on Tuesday states friends of future SNS team owner Bryan Reynolds have proposed to him simular ideas of SNS of their own but after learning of the growing SNS league, have abandoned the idea of their own and want to play in SNS. "We wanted to create a league of our own for the past few years, but lack of commitment have dissolved any possible resemblance of a league" said Bryan Reynolds Thursday afternoon when questioned. "We like how committed the players are of the Sunday Night Softball league and that's a turn on to anyone wanting to join a league ran by students."

"It's truly something else when you have all of these different ball clubs wanting to join Sunday Night Softball" League commissioner Chris Scarbrough said during SNS' weekley press conference Thursday. "Sometimes the truth stings like a scorpion" he later said.

Preseason play is scheduled to begin on Sunday afternoon. Team GCA is looking to challenge Panchos Ranchos on Sunday afternoon. SNS's board of directors are currently questioning the authenticity of The Rock after numerous reports coming into league officals about the majority of The Rock rosters submitted not even being contacted about SNS. Scarbrough is questioning if allowing them a team was the right move and what to do next if he is not contacted by Rock managment within the next few days.
