Hantes calls it a career after SNS rookie season

CHILI, NY--
The first sign of change in Jason Hantes came when he was alinited by a mysterious stalker calling himself 'Deepthroat.' Soon following the mind games of this mysterious man came a lunch table movement and a full silent treatment since early April.
Now he's decided to depart from SNS. Hantes has decided to retire at the peak of his career, stunning Team GCA and leaving an enormous void in their pitching staff less than a month before the start of training camp.
Hantes, who finished with a 7-0 record and 3 strikeouts last summer has not contaced team officials GCA to place his commitment for the 2005 season. There is still time for the 18 year old to make his commitment to the team but reports from sources close to Jason say it is unlikely that he will play at all in 2005. "He wants to get on with his life, wants to move on to bigger and better things," SNS reporter and ESPN Senior Softball Analysist Thurman St. Croix told the Democrat and Chronicle on Wednesday.
"I was completely surprised," Reynolds said Wednesday. "My main thought process was to try to get Jason to come back here, sit down, talk about some things and see if we can get this thing back on track. He obviously chose to go another direction."
